Tim Abbott

Hey! My name’s Timothy but Mum only calls me that when I’m in trouble.

I was introduced to dirt jumping at 14 and discovered downhill soon after that. I grew up building little tracks with my friends, filming amateur video parts and hitting sections until we crashed. Since then, not much has changed. These days, I love getting out with my buddies and seeing what rowdy stuff we can hit on our trail bikes. I’ve purchased a bit more camera gear and enjoy making slightly more professional videos to document it. I’ve also learnt to pedal which has granted me success racing downhill and enduro at state and national levels. If you see me on the trails hit me up! I’m always up for a chat, a train and a huck to flat.

Will Hynes

Hynes

Hey guys, my name is Will Hynes and I am a 14 year old mountain bike rider from Brisbane.

My main focus is racing the South East Queensland Enduro Series but I also live dirt jumping and freeride. At any chance I get, I’ll be out on the trails or at the local dirt jumps having a good time. My favourite places to ride are Tamrookum Creek, Boomerang Farm and BP dirt jumps in Ferny Grove. I first got into Mountain Biking when I was about 12 riding a dirt jumper at gap creek and from there on, I have loved it since! One of my favourite things about riding is being out with your mates and having fun.

Katie Lawlor

I’m Katie and I have been part of the FTR racing team since June 2017. I’m 24 years old and I’ve been riding downhill since I was 21. In my first year of elite racing I claimed 1st place at the QLD state championships and continued on to finish 3rd at the Australian national championships. In 2017 I was selected to represent Australia at the UCI World Championships in Cairns. It was in cairns where I experience my first significant injury which has created a greater drive and motivation to go further in downhill racing! I do not fear failure because it teaches me my limits.

Andrew Cavaye

Hey Guys, my names Andrew. Originally hailing from Toowoomba, I have been racing Downhill for the past 9 years and have recently ventured into the world of Enduro over the last few years. Some of my proudest achievements include an Elite 1 st place at a National Enduro, as well as an Elite 3 rd place at a National Downhill round. If I’m not busy racing, you will find me on the local trails out at Mt Cootha and Gap Creek, smashing laps on the downhill bike, or out chasing mountains on the road bike. Some of my best memories on a bike are from the year I spent overseas in Whistler, Canada where I spent countless hours in the bike park and even jumped a train. Having fun with your mates is one of the most important aspects of riding to me, if you ever bump into me on the trails or at a race don’t be afraid to say hey!

Hey guys, my name is Jonathon Dodds and I love riding my bike. My focus is riding the Queensland enduro series. I started riding with the FTR crew at the start of the year, but before that I was racing national cross country.

My favorite place to ride is tamrookum Creek, Gap Creek, Mt joice and Castle Hill. I don’t really have a favourite food. I ride a yeti sb5.5 and it’s a really good bike. It’s so smooth down the hill and it is really quite good at climbing also.

Hey guys, my name is Caleb Rees. I'm a 16 year old mountain biker from Queensland. I've been racing mountain bikes for 8 years now in a variety of disciplines but my main focus over the past 5 years has been Dh and enduro. Some of my highlight results are a 3rd place in u17's national Dh champs, 2nd place in u17's national enduro champs and winning a elite round in the local Dh series. When I'm not racing dh or enduro I'm either riding my trail bike, doing dh runs or doing km's on my track bike. If you ever see me on the trails come over for a chat!

Simon Frederiksen

Hey there, my name is Simon but most people call me Freddo. I started riding and racing BMX in Alice Springs when I was 6 years old and loved building jumps with my brothers and friends on our property. I first got into mountain biking after high school while I was in Canada where I was a gap student in a little school near Montreal. They had about 150 acres with some cool single track. After Canada, I moved to Brisbane where my brother Nick introduced me to a heap of really good riders who soughed me out. I started racing XC back in 2002 and also dabbled in bit of 4X and Downhill. For training, I love riding at Gap Creek given the varied terrain and elevation available.

Hayden Wright

Hi, my name's Hayden and I am bike obsessed. The affinity all began when I was 6 years old when my parents bought me my first dirt bike. After riding and racing motocross with friends and family for around 7 years I started playing around less with dirt bikes and more with bicycles. Initially it was just dirt jumping and general mucking about with the neighbourhood kids but after a few years the competitive itch got to me again and I started racing local BMX and 4X. As is with most riders, this also progressed into some downhill racing but at the time the inaccessibility of proper downhill riding led me to only complete one season - I spent a lot more time behind a gate than I did doing shuttles. >>>

Jacob Neumann

Hi Guys, I'm Jacob. I got into riding bikes around the age of 10 starting out with BMX racing. I got my first mountain bike when I was 12 and haven't looked back since. My main discipline is Downhill racing but I enjoy all types of riding on 2 wheels. I've been to Queenstown, New Zealand and Whistler, Canada riding my downhill bike with those trips harbouring some of my best memories. I also competed in the three downhill events at Crankworx Whistler. My highlight at Crankworx was a 2nd place finish in the Dual Slalom. I look forward to riding and progressing throughout 2017, representing ForTheRiders and Norco Bikes.

Bobby Blinco

Bobby
Blinco

Hey guys, My name is Bobby and I’m originally from Bundaberg. I made the transition from skateboarding for 15 years over to mountain bikes at the start of 2013 to gain fitness after a broken shoulder. I then entered my first enduro mid way through 2015 in sport class and then progressed into expert for the remainder of the year then elite in 2016. The open and relaxed enduro format suites my lazy habits and poor bike skills and race day I find is more about hanging out with mates as opposed to flat out results. Normally you will find me out of breathe in Cornubia on either my Yeti SB6C or on the end of a rakehoe. 2017 will hopefully bring some good results along with some solid riding with good mates.

Chris O'dowd

O'dowd

Hey everyone, I'm Chris O'Dowd and I am excited to be joining the ForTheRiders team riding my new Intense M16c & Recluse in 2017. Riding for me started in my last year of high-school in 2011 when my friends and I would hang out after school at the Steve Jones track at Bunya. Soon one of my friends bought his first downhill bike and I quickly followed suit. My school friends have grown out of bikes now but my passion for them has only grown. I attended the odd race right from the start as a way to meet new people and ride new tracks but in the last few years have tried to progress my riding by attending as many races, events and new areas as possible. This has included a trip to Queenstown, New Zealand in 2015 and last year I was lucky enough to spend a month in Whistler, Canada with a large group of friends, which included racing during their world famous Crankworx competition. 2017 will be my first year since graduating university and is a year I hope to buy my first motorbike, save for my next overseas adventure, progress my riding and get the best possible results in every race I can enter. If you see me out on the trails or at races then come say hey and let's ride!

Cameron Tomlinson

I got my first MTB when I was 13 and went along to try a club ride in my hometown, Toowoomba. Was immediately hooked, hard not be after witnessing some guy called Jared Graves sending an old xc bike at an absurd speed. They talked me into trying out my first downhill race in 2000 and I haven't been able to stay away since, competing in state and national events. I became mates with the FTR family from the shops humble beginnings in Tomac's parent's garage, with Michael getting my bike running sweet and onto podiums as a junior. It has been rad to see what ForTheRiders has grown into over the last decade, and looking forward to more good times ahead! You'll find me at the DH events on a Santa Cruz V10, or behind the wheel pumping runs for Brisbane mountain shuttles!

Hey guys, I’m Daniel. I started riding when I was 8 which eventually progressed into racing in 2012 and I have never looked back since, from the lows of breaking my collarbone while riding in New Zealand to the highlight of my racing so far being able to travel to Crankworx to race in the Garbanzo DH race, Aline race and Canadian Open DH. I enjoy all types of riding, from Cross Country to Enduro and my personal favourite been Downhill. I am looking forward to the 2017 race season aboard my new Intense M16 and Recluse.

Ryan Leutton

Hi there, I’m Ryan. I’ve been riding and racing for a few years now first getting into downhill back in 2009. Prior to that I raced motocross competing at a national level from 2000-2007. I spent a fair chunk of time competing overseas managing to win the Italian Downhill Series in 2013. I’ve since backed that up with podium results for both enduro and downhill securing myself a start for the 2017 Enduro World Series. None of my achievements would be possible without the backing of ForTheRiders and those close to me. Thanks!

Shaun Jackson

Hi All, I’m Shaun the old fella in the team. I love doing the races that everyone else hates to do. Anything from multi day adventure races, multi days mountain bike rides, 100 mile races, XCM to my favourite 24hr MTB’s. Most people tell me that I have a screw loose, probably more like two. I just like to see how far I can push myself, physically and mentally. I spend most of my time riding the Bayview trail network on my weapon of choice the Norco Revolver. Big thanks to the shop team who make it all possible. See you on the trails.
